Is Candlelight: The Best of MPB worth attending?

It is one of the most distinctly Brazilian programs in the Candlelight series and could be a great choice for anyone looking to combine music, architecture and an itinerary around the port district. The 6 p.m. performance also makes it easy to have dinner afterward at Praça Mauá.

One thing to keep in mind: Fever states that entry is not permitted after the performance begins. The doors open 30 minutes before the show. Since seating is first come, first served within each zone, arriving early also gives you more choice of seats.

It is a tribute concert; the artists being honored are not participating in, affiliated with or endorsing the event.

How to get to the Museum of Tomorrow

The Museum of Tomorrow is located at Praça Mauá, 1, in Centro. For those using public transportation, the most convenient option is usually the VLT, getting off at Parada dos Museus, about 200 meters from the entrance.

VLT

Take Line 1 and get off at Parada dos Museus. This is the option that leaves you closest to the venue.

Subway

The Uruguaiana station is the reference point indicated by the Museum of Tomorrow itself. From there, you can walk or combine the route with the VLT.

Car

The Museum of Tomorrow does not have its own parking lot. There are private parking lots nearby, but for a timed performance, public transportation reduces the risk of being late.

Safety tips

Praça Mauá is an important tourist and cultural area, but things change when the crowds thin out at night. The main thing is to avoid improvising your journey home.

  • Decide in advance whether you will return by VLT, taxi or ride-hailing app.
  • Avoid standing on the sidewalk with your phone out.
  • If you order a ride through an app, wait in a busy area and check the license plate and driver.
  • If you are unfamiliar with Centro at night, choose a short, direct route.
  • If you are traveling in a group, agree on a meeting point for when you leave.
