Where is Boteco Boa Praça Leblon?
Boteco Boa Praça is located at Rua Dias Ferreira, 12, in Leblon, in Rio de Janeiro’s South Zone.
The location is one of the reasons the experience works so well.
Rua Dias Ferreira is one of those streets where eating and drinking are part of the attraction. You can come for dinner, stop by for just one cocktail or easily turn your visit into a full evening out.
For visitors to Rio, Leblon is also a great neighborhood to include in a day exploring the South Zone.

What is Boa Praça Leblon like?
This may be one of the best ways to explain why Boa Praça works so well:
it is not quite a sophisticated restaurant, but it is not a simple neighborhood bar either.
It sits somewhere comfortably in between.
The space is stylish and well designed while remaining casual. You can arrive in relaxed clothes, stop in only for drinks or turn the visit into lunch, dinner or an entire evening.
During our visit, one of the first things we noticed was the atmosphere.
The restaurant was lively and busy, but it still felt comfortable enough to sit down, talk and enjoy the meal.
Its combination of drinks, Brazilian bar food and an easygoing atmosphere fits Leblon particularly well.

Is Boa Praça a chain?
Yes.
Boa Praça has several locations in Brazil, including restaurants in Rio de Janeiro and other major Brazilian cities.
In Rio, the brand has locations in areas such as Leblon, Ipanema and Barra da Tijuca.
Even though it is a chain, the Leblon location feels naturally connected to the neighborhood, especially because of its address on Rua Dias Ferreira and its modern interpretation of the Brazilian boteco experience.
This is the location we visited for this guide.
What should you order at Boa Praça Leblon?
This is where the restaurant gets interesting.
The menu works particularly well for people who like to order several dishes for the table and share everything.
Instead of choosing one appetizer and one main course per person, we enjoyed the experience much more by ordering different snacks and dishes gradually.
That is exactly what we did.
Tropicalense: our first cocktail
We had barely arrived before our first cocktail was already on the table.
We chose the Tropicalense, made with gin, Red Bull Tropical, tangerine juice and orange.
It is exactly the sort of drink that works on a warm Rio evening: citrusy, refreshing and easy to drink.
For us, it was a great way to start.
If you like gin-based drinks and prefer refreshing flavors over cocktails that are overly sweet, this was one of our pleasant surprises.
Mixed Brazilian snacks: a great way to start
Our first food order was the mixed snack platter, featuring several house favorites.
During our visit, it included:
- two Brazilian chicken croquettes, or coxinhas;
- two beef rib croquettes;
- two pork croquettes;
- two crispy parcels filled with dried beef.
This is exactly the type of dish we recommend if you are visiting Boa Praça for the first time.
Instead of committing to a single appetizer, you can sample several of the house snacks and discover your favorite.
And then comes the dangerous part: you may end up ordering another portion of whichever one wins the table vote.

Sliced picanha: made for sharing
After the snacks, we moved on to something more substantial.
We ordered the sliced picanha, served as a dish for the table.
During our visit, the beef arrived juicy and topped with melted cheese, quickly becoming one of those plates everyone reaches for as soon as it lands on the table.
It works particularly well for groups.
In fact, this may be our most useful Boa Praça tip:
come hungry and order dishes to share.
The restaurant makes much more sense with a table full of different plates arriving gradually than with everyone ordering only one dish.
Because menus, side dishes and prices can change, we recommend checking the official Boa Praça Leblon menu before your visit.
Elefante Tropical: another cocktail we tried
Our second cocktail was the Elefante Tropical.
It combines flavors such as Amarula Raspberry, vermouth and lemon, giving it a very different profile from the Tropicalense.
While the Tropicalense is lighter and more citrus-forward, the Elefante Tropical is richer and more distinctive.
If you are visiting as a couple, one good strategy is exactly what we did:
order different drinks and try both.
You get to experience more of the cocktail menu without having to order everything yourself.
Burrata Boa Praça
We also tried the Burrata Boa Praça.
During our visit, it arrived with small creamy burratas, arugula, cherry tomatoes, balsamic dressing, olive oil and toast.
It provided a nice contrast to the richer Brazilian bar snacks.
After croquettes and picanha, the combination of burrata, tomato, greens and balsamic made the table feel a little lighter.
It was another dish that worked especially well for sharing.
What did we like most about Boa Praça Leblon?
More than any single dish, what stood out to us was the overall experience.
Some restaurants are places you visit because you want one particular item from the menu.
Boa Praça felt different.
You go there to spend time.
You order a cocktail.
Then a snack.
The conversation continues.
Another dish arrives.
Someone decides to try another drink.
And before you realize it, you have stayed much longer than you originally planned.
That is exactly the type of place we like including on Viagens e Lugares because it helps visitors experience the city rather than simply eat a meal.
Is Boa Praça good for happy hour?
Yes.
In fact, happy hour may be one of the occasions that suits Boa Praça best.
The mix of drinks, beer, Brazilian appetizers and a lively atmosphere makes it ideal for meeting friends in the late afternoon or early evening.
The Leblon location also helps.
It works particularly well for that type of outing that begins with “let’s just have one drink” and somehow becomes an entire evening.

Is Boa Praça Leblon good for tourists?
We think so.
Especially if you are staying in Rio’s South Zone.
Many first-time visitors plan their entire Rio itinerary around Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mountain and the beaches.
Those are essential, of course.
However, experiencing the city’s neighborhoods, food and nightlife is also part of understanding Rio.
Leblon is a great place for that.
You can spend part of your day at the beach or exploring the South Zone and finish with drinks and Brazilian snacks on Rua Dias Ferreira.
If this is your first trip to the city, start with our complete guide to what to do in Rio de Janeiro.
Another easy combination is to spend the afternoon at Ipanema Beach before continuing to Leblon for dinner or drinks.
Is Boa Praça Leblon good for couples?
Yes.
Although Boa Praça has plenty of group energy, we think it also works well for couples, especially if you do not want an overly formal dinner.
That was essentially our experience.
Different cocktails, several dishes to share and enough time to sit and talk.
For a relaxed date night, it works very well.

Is it good for groups and birthdays?
This is one of the situations where the restaurant’s concept makes even more sense.
Sharing plates, ordering rounds of drinks and spending a long time at the table naturally suits groups.
Boa Praça also accepts reservations and offers options for celebrations and group events through its official channels.
If you are planning a birthday or gathering with several people, we recommend contacting the restaurant beforehand instead of simply showing up.
This is especially useful during busy evenings and weekends.
Do you need a reservation at Boa Praça Leblon?
Not necessarily for every visit.
However, booking ahead can be a very good idea for weekends, busy periods, celebrations and larger groups.
The Leblon location provides online reservation options and dedicated contact channels.
You can check availability through the official Boa Praça Leblon channels.
Does Boa Praça Leblon have live music?
Music is part of the Boa Praça experience, but schedules can vary depending on the day and location.
Therefore, if live music is an important reason for your visit, we recommend checking the restaurant’s current schedule before leaving your hotel or home.
And if you want to combine dinner with another activity in the city, check our guide to Rio de Janeiro events.
How much does it cost to eat at Boa Praça Leblon?
Your total bill will depend heavily on the kind of experience you choose.
You can stop by just for drinks and a couple of appetizers, or order meat dishes, several plates for the table and multiple cocktails.
Since restaurant prices change frequently, we prefer not to publish figures that may become outdated and mislead readers.
Before going, check the restaurant’s current official menu.
Our easiest money-saving tip is simple:
go with other people and share the dishes.
It matches the concept of the restaurant and lets you try far more of the menu.
When is the best time to visit Boa Praça Leblon?
It depends on the experience you want.
For a more relaxed visit, arriving earlier in the evening is usually the better choice.
For a livelier atmosphere, happy hour and later evening periods fit the Boa Praça concept particularly well.
Weekends and popular evening periods may naturally be busier, so groups should consider making a reservation.

Common mistakes when visiting Boa Praça Leblon
Ordering too much food at once
Many dishes are designed for sharing.
We prefer ordering gradually, trying each plate and deciding what to add next.
Not checking the current menu
Restaurant prices and menu items may change.
Always check the latest menu before visiting if a specific dish or price is important to you.
Arriving with a large group without checking availability
For birthdays, celebrations and groups, contacting the restaurant beforehand is the safer choice.
Treating it like a formal restaurant
Boa Praça is at its best when you embrace the boteco atmosphere: share dishes, try drinks and take your time.
Our experience: is Boa Praça Leblon worth visiting?
For us, yes.
Boa Praça falls into that category of places that work because several elements come together.
The atmosphere is attractive without feeling overly formal.
The food has the spirit of a Brazilian boteco without being limited to the most obvious snacks.
The cocktail menu helps turn dinner into a proper night out.
And Rua Dias Ferreira completes the experience.
It would not be our first choice for an extremely quiet or intimate dinner.
However, for meeting friends, having drinks, sharing food, enjoying happy hour or simply spending an evening in Leblon, it is definitely a place worth saving.
And that is probably what stayed with us most after the visit:
Boa Praça is the kind of place that makes you want to stay a little longer.
