Is Candlelight Disney Love Songs worth attending?

It has a more family-friendly and nostalgic feel than other Candlelight concerts. The minimum age of 5 makes it suitable for a wider audience, and the performances at the Museum of Tomorrow make it easy to plan a day exploring the port area before the show.

Important note: Fever states that it does not allow entry after the performance begins. The doors open 45 minutes before the show. Since seats are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis within each zone, arriving early also gives you more seating options.

How to get to the Museum of Tomorrow

The Museum of Tomorrow is located at Praça Mauá, 1, in Centro. For public transportation, the museum itself recommends the VLT Line 1 and getting off at Parada dos Museus, about 200 meters from the entrance.

VLT

This is the most direct way to reach Praça Mauá. Parada dos Museus is close to the entrance and minimizes walking, which is especially useful at night.

Metro

The Uruguaiana station is the one recommended by the Museum of Tomorrow. From there, you can walk toward Praça Mauá or combine the journey with the VLT.

Train and ferries

If you arrive at Central do Brasil, you can connect to the VLT; from the ferry terminal at Praça XV, you can continue on foot or by public transportation.

Car

The Museum of Tomorrow states that it does not have its own parking lot. There are private parking facilities nearby, and the museum lists RB1, on Avenida Rio Branco, as a nearby option.

Safety tips

Praça Mauá sees a steady flow of tourists, workers and event attendees. Even so, planning looks quite different for an early-evening performance and a nighttime departure.

  • Plan your return journey before going inside. For later performances, know whether you will use the VLT, a taxi or a ride-hailing app.
  • Avoid standing still with your phone in plain sight while deciding on a route or requesting a car.
  • Wait in busy areas when using a ride-hailing app, and check the license plate and driver’s details before getting in.
  • Don’t improvise long walks at night if you are unfamiliar with Centro; choose a simple, direct route instead.
  • If you are traveling in a group, agree on a meeting point for after the show.

Things to do nearby

Rio Art Museum (MAR)

It is located right on Praça Mauá and pairs particularly well with early-evening performances. See our Rio Art Museum guide.

Touring Building

This is a convenient option for eating before or after the show without leaving the port area. See the Touring Building guide and our overview of Touring restaurants and prices.

Olympic Boulevard

If you arrive early, it’s worth walking along the waterfront and through the port area. To expand your itinerary, see things to do in Rio de Janeiro.

Where to stay

If the event is part of a trip to Rio, I wouldn’t choose a hotel based solely on its distance from Praça Mauá. Centro, Flamengo, Botafogo and Copacabana can work differently depending on the rest of your itinerary.
